Meet Louie

Louie is a very handsome boy who loves being the centre of attention. He is a very friendly horse and is extremely playful when out in the field. Louie adores his friends and is always playing so an older herd may find him a bit too enthusiastic and energetic. A herd with youngsters would love Louie to join in on their antics. He is very sociable so would become stressed if left alone in the field; Louie also needs a gelding only herd. Louie is great to handle but will require someone experienced as he can become excitable on occasions and will need to be given consistent boundaries. A competent handler will get along great with him; he loves his groom and behaves well for the vet or farrier. Louie is good to catch but does expect a wee treat from his groom; treats are always the way to his heart. He came into Belwade Farm with an old injury and has a swelling on his knee due to extra fluid around the extensor tendon sheath; although he will always have the swelling it doesn’t bother him as a companion and never seems to slow him down when out in the field. Due to this old injury, he did not remain sound when brought into work however he is happy and sound out of work. His daily laps of the field show how much Louie loves life. Louie will happily live out all year round but will need a rug during the winter months. If you think Louie would fit in with your horses please apply online.
